1. How do you feel about winning this contest?
I was very excited to read the news that I had won this contest. I have never won a contest in this group before so I wasn't expecting a win. I'm very pleased that my artwork has been selected out of all of the entries from all of the great artists that this group has.
2. How did you come up with this entry?
I was coming back to feed the horses one morning and thinking about how I don't like living here so much and how I wished I could have a different world to go to. I was also regretting not having manipulated as much lately, having been away the whole summer. And then I figured out that I could totally manip my own planet, and it would fit the theme of this contest. It was certainly an idea that popped into my head pretty much fully formed.
4. How long have you been maniping?
I believe I started around March of 2010, and found dA when I was looking for a stock resource. A few months later I joined dA. It took be a bit before I started to participate in activities and interact with the community, but it's been a wonderful source of inspiration.
5. What is your favorite kind of manip?
I don't really have a firm favorite type of manip. I enjoy any manip that inspires me or make me think. I do enjoy fantasy and horse manips though.
6. Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a 16 year old girl who lives in North Carolina, USA. I am homeschooled, but am also attending community college with the plan of earning credits to transfer to a larger university in a couple of years. I'm considering majoring in graphic design, but I'm not sure yet. For the past few years I have had a business selling jewelry that I design. I try to put profits from this towards my horse. I've been riding ever since I was seven and in January I purchased a horse named Golly Gee. I haven't competed at all this year, but in the past Golly and I have shown dressage. I hope to start competing again soon and also learn eventing with him. Erm..anything else interesting about me? I'm vegan and I have a passion for tie-dye.
7. What got you into doing manips?
I played on a horse SIM game and some of the players would create custom graphics for their horses. I wanted to try it too so I did! I've also always been interested in techniques used in designing magazines and ads. I started out with GIMP and then eventually got a copy of cs5 which is the program I use now. Last winter I also got a tablet, albeit a cheapy knock off brand one.
8. Anything else you would like to share?
Just that I'm really pleased with this and that this group has meant so much to me over the past year or how ever long it's been. All of the help and support I've gotten through this community means so much to me (that means especially you Donna!)

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!!

That's amazing! I'll do my best to answer those questions

1. How do you feel about winning this contest?
It feels AMAZING. I can't even describe how happy this made me. Seeing the note where you notify me about my achievement got me literally out of my chair jumping up and down! Thank you for that!

2. How did you come up with this entry?
Well, I think it all just came into place. Only looking for the right stocks took me forefer, after that was the fun part. To be honest, I wasn't sure what I wanted it to look like when it's finished, I just knew that I wanted a peaceful looking landscape, so I just went with the flow.
4. How long have you been maniping?
I believe I started when I was 12, so that's about four years. It was the most primitive kind of manipulation, of course.

I began with changing colour tones, hues, then adding more objects to the picture. It took me a long time before I learned how to blend it all together so it looks as natural as possible.
5. What is your favorite kind of manip?
I don't think it matters what's on the picture, more important is that it gives you a feeling. But to answer the question, I don't have a favourite kind of manip. It all depends on the artwork itself.
6. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a sixteen years old girl from Bulgaria. I just came back this summer from a year long scholarship program in the United States that really got me liking this country as a place to start my career (which I am still not sure about). I am *slightly* indecisive, as you just found from the last sentence, but also really ambitious. Apart from my love for Photoshop I also enjoy photography and I'd like to get into digital drawing as well (after I buy my first tablet).
7. What got you into doing manips?
DeviantART, definitely! Other people's works have always been inspiration to me. I just wanted to learn how to do things the artists out here were doing.
8. Anything else you would like to share?
I want to give one HUGE thanks to the organizors of the contest and also to the people who have been sticking with me, following my works and commenting. I wouldn't be here without you! So thank you!
